A new year, a new term.
First of all, happy new year and welcome back for term 2 to one and all!
The time has come! We are putting on our very first weekend show. This year's production is The Winter's Tale and will be rehearsed and performed on Weekend 2 of Term 2.
For those of you who want to be involved in the chorus, please come along to the workshop rehearsals on SATURDAY 17TH JANUARY AND SUNDAY
18TH JANUARY, 10am - 6pm in B2 13/14, in preparation for the performance on the
Sunday night at 7pm.
And for those of you who prefer an audience role, join us on the the piazza steps, wrapped up in your warm winter coats and hats, to enjoy acomplementary cup of hot chocolate and watch as our bunch of weekend show stars deliver a first-class performance of The Winters Tale that's completely FREE! The show is only an hour
long, but to warm your cockles afterwards, we invite you to join the Shakespeare Society for a drink at Varsity from 8pm.
For any further info, please don't hesitate to contact either Emma or Aoife at
Emma.Taylor@warwick.ac.uk and Aoife.O-Donnell@warwick.ac.uk, or visit the Facebook
group (part of University of Warwick ShakeSoc) .
TWELFTH NIGHT
ShakeSoc's next performance is going to be an adaptation of Twelfth Night,
performed in Leamington Spa on 27th February. We are currently looking for an
assistant producer for the show. Previous experience is not necessary, so for anyone
who is looking to get involved with what goes on behind the scenes for a performance, this is the perfect opportunity! If you're interested, please email Nick
Collins (Producer) at njscollins@gmail.com.
WORKSHOPS
If anyone has any requests/ideas about workshops youd like us to run (or if you've got an idea for a workshop that you're interested in leading) please let us know by emailing Max.Archer@warwick.ac.uk.
That's all for now, more to come next week!
Much love,
ShakeSoc
